The barrel leg shape does the work. Wide through the thigh, tapered at the ankle — it's a proportion that flatters without fussing. Pull them on with trainers and a knit and you're done. Add a heel and a boxy top and you're somewhere else entirely.
They're also exceptional with our padded boxy jackets. Just saying.
